NAMDARNEWS – COVID vaccination for teachers kicked off at a collaborative base in Shahr-e-Rey of Tehran on Thursday with the Iranian ministers of Health and Education in attendance
People who are actively working during the COVID-19 pandemic, identified as ‘frontline workers’ will be vaccinated in Iran as the first priority
The decision has also paved the way for Public Transportation Drivers, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) workers and Officers, nomads and Tribes, and people with pre-condition diseases who are riskier toward infection to COVID-19
Emphasizing how the world is challenging with the unprecedented pandemic, Iran’s Education Minister Mohsen Haji-Mirzaei stated that the virus had impacted the education process globally
He pointed out that 70 percent of the Teachers in the world have experienced new teaching methods (online teaching) and spent most of their time constructing and connecting students to extend their capabilities and skills through E-learning
He also noted that teachers have not let the virus halt the education, though it has negatively impacted the teaching process
Reiterating that students’ social capacities, mental health, physical activities, and learning are carried out at schools, Haji-Mirzaei urged non-stop efforts to reopen schools as soon as possible
So far, 8,848,936 people have received the first dose of the COVID vaccine, 2,558,802 people have received the second dose, and the total number of vaccines injected in Iran reached 11,407,738 doses
